Overview
We are delighted to welcome Villa Joy Mykonos to the One Nice Hotel collection as we consider it one of the best luxury villas to stay at when visiting the cosmopolitan island of Mykonos in Greece. Its timeless Cycladic setting, its spacious common use areas and its comfortable bedrooms reflect a truly hotel-living experience and we are delighted to bring this gem of a property to your attention.

The Property
The property sits within a gated complex spreading over 8-acre of land and splits into two parts allowing the two villas to operate separately, if needed. Both villas benefit from breathtaking sea views towards the Aegean Sea as well as spacious outdoor space and great indoors facilities.
The largest of the two villas benefits from vast living spaces encompassing a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room that can comfortably fit up to for eight (8) persons, a sitting area with a fireplace and a stunning view. The custom-made furniture that have carefully selected from Bali do exotically decorate the interior’s white-washed sheer walls which have been blended with wooden finishes and high-quality marble elements. Upon entrance, the large lounge area’s vibe is vibrant and energising, a result of the rays of the greek strong sunlight coming in through the horizontal windows that guarantee for optimal views. The villa offers seven (7) bedrooms and sleeps fourteen (14) guests, although this number could be slightly increased if we consider the use of the sofas, too. Most rooms are aligned with a luxury hotel’s Deluxe category, however, there are two bedrooms enjoying their own private living space while all bedrooms have direct access to various sitting areas. The outdoors area has a 5×12 meter infinity pool and there is a big kitchen with a big cooking island and a table ready to welcome eighteen (18) individuals close to it, making it ideal for cosy family or friend breakfasts as well as fun dinners. In reality, the villa’s guests could spend an entire day at the villa, should they wanted to, as they have anything they may need including, but not limited to, the convenient sun beds, the waterproof speakers at the pool area, various kitchen facilities, separate toilet and outdoors shower facilities, an outdoors amphitheater and of course, all the indoors facilities.
The second villa of the estate can accommodate up to six (6) guests across its three (3) bedrooms; two of them are located within the villa’s building and the third one is a stand-alone studio located by the side of the main building offering even more privacy to its guests. The villa’s 3×6 plunge pool is the best place to get refreshed prior to visiting the beach on a very hot day or enjoy your champagne whilst enjoying the sunset in privacy and style.
The guests of both villas will be able to use the ten (10) car positions available within the complex.
One of our favourite operational aspects relates to the fact that there is an electric generator which fully covers the electric supply of the property so, in the event of electricity disruptions or failure in the local supply system, which sometimes do happen during peak season, the villas’ operations will be able to continue as normal, without any inconvenience caused to guests.

Room & Suite Types
Both villas’ rooms have been designed in a way that enhances relaxation and serenity and whether located on the upper level or the ground floor they all enjoy an inside-outside connection with nature. The white, sandy beige and stone grey linen matched with the rustic wooden furniture create an earthy sense helping guests relate directly to the nude and raw Cycladic landscape which is shaped by rocks, sand and hills covered by the golden ear of corn in places. Like in most villas of the Cycladic islands, there are certain built-in elements, such as the bathrooms’ sinks or the wardrobes and the shelves, which maintain the same white-washed colour as the rest of the walls and are made of concrete; this is just one of the design details connecting the villa with the destination itself.
Comfortable King size and Queen size beds from a Parisian manufacturer’s brand, called Treca, guarantee for guests’ best sleep quality. The bedrooms provide both ceiling fans and air-conditioning facilities so that all guests’ cooling preferences can be accommodated accordingly.
Size-wise the bedrooms start from 11.5sqsm. of net bedroom space and go up to 32sqm. Some bedrooms are connected to a private living area of minimum 15sqm. and most bedrooms are ensuite or there is a bathroom for a maximum of two bedrooms sharing it.
Location
Villa Joy Mykonos enjoys absolute privacy whilst being very well connected to some of the island’s best beaches; located on a five minute drive from Ftelia beach, which is considered to be the best beach for kitesurfing and also home to one of the most well-known Beach Bar/Restaurants of Mykonos, called Alemagou, as well as the traditional village of Apo Mera where one can find shops, super markets and some restaurants, makes the villa a convenient base regardless of the exact itinerary you consider following while in the island. Villa Joy Mykonos faces the beautiful sandy beaches of Panormos and Agios Sostis while the South beaches are in very close proximity, around ten minutes’ drive. Mykonos Town, where most of the island’s nightlife evolves, is on a 15-20 minute drive from the villa and since the night-outs tend to start pretty late in Mykonos you would either choose to drive or call a taxi to take you to the town and return.
Experience
The experience one has when staying at Villa Joy Mykonos is a truly Mykonian one as it combines the high level of amenities and decor that the island’s design standards have set in combination with magnificent views to the sea and the horizon as well as great connectivity to many villages, beaches and of course, Mykonos Town. Villa Joy is a luxurious property offering ultimate comfort, privacy and connection to the island to the guests. Every guest will get the chance to experience the villa in their own way, depending on the guests’ mix and, whether that would consist of friends, couples or families. Regardless of your combination you can stay assured that everyone will find something to love within the villa’s premises as it is all very well thought of and very nicely done.

What we like about it
Although we love everything about Villa Joy Mykonos, its energy independence is what we highly appreciate as we know how much of a difference this can make when a power cut occurs, especially during the high season when the island gets extremely busy. The second aspect we adore is the outdoors kitchen by the pool which is very convenient to have and also, feels like the perfect place when a group of friends or a family stays at the villa and wishes to enjoy their meals without having to discount the beauty of the views.
